Post 2: FEAR - COVID 19 - Novel Coronavirus

EVERYONE has something to say on this topic, rightfully so, the whole world is going bonkers with fear of catching the Coronavirus. The supermarket shelves are mostly bare, you can't find toilet paper or hand sanitiser anywhere, people are spinning out, conferences are cancelled or reimagined, sporting events held in isolation, the NBA just cancelled the season, Trump shut the US borders to Europe, our beloved Tom Hanks is the new face of COVID 19, doomsday preppers are celebrating everywhere. This is the world we are facing into in 2020.
Amidst all the insanity, I am just trying to live my life, go to work, take care of my family, walk the dog, exercise. Nothing has changed, yet, maybe there is some weird defence mechanism in my brain, maybe its denial, can't be quite sure. I have a check in with the Johns Hopkins Corona Virus Dashboard, at least 3x per day, which can be found here: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 I am receiving CNN news alerts every 5 minutes, my company sends out daily comms on the situation, and it is all anyone is really talking about...still I haven't changed anything.
I'm a frequent listener of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he always has interesting conversations with sensational people. Yesterday's episode was with an expert in infectious disease epidemiology, Michael Osterholm. The episode was really good, also terrifying, it did however make me feel quite glad that I have spent so much time over the past few months getting healthy. Long story short, get loads of rest, don't smoke cigarettes, eat healthy food, exercise, take your vitamins and prescriptions, and all will be fine, MAYBE, this thing has only just begun. I guess for now, I won't let the fear limit my freedom. The scariest question is, when will it, and how soon? Only time will tell.
